Hello TJ's Family & Friends,
My beautiful wife Sara and I have the privilege of celebrating 10 years of marriage together on May 26th! I tell people often that she's supposed to love me... but she still likes me too! That's a bonus! I'm a blessed man! There has been a lot of fruit in our lives since we've partnered on this journey of life together. We believe in the work hard/play hard philosophy! Between: marketplace ministry (our paid jobs), full-time ministry (volunteer), business owners (with multiple branches), children and other responsibilities, our plateth is quite full! However, we make it a priority to spend family time even if that means going away on vacation to escape the temptation to overextend ourselves. We generally call those little getaways... #ThorsbyAdventures
Instead of buying lots of "stuff" that we can't afford in this season, we would rather invest in adventures filled with priceless memories. We also make it a priority to invest in others that can be the hands and feet to spread the good news about Jesus all across the globe. We can't be everywhere at once and quite frankly, we're much more effective with diversity and partnerships anyways. Even though our vacations are supposed to be time off from responsibilities, they often become opportunities for refueling so we can accomplish the missions at hand! We're passionate about being missionaries to the missionaries so sometimes our adventures intersect with our partnerships!
Speaking of missions... We also share the 10 year anniversary platform with our spiritual parents, friends, ministry partners... Pastor Steve & Ana McDaniel. They have been faithfully serving on the field in Guatemala since 2007 after administering our wedding and it is our pleasure to partner with them. We have gone on many trips to Guatemala and look forward to many more as we impact the kingdom. We also sponsor two children in Guatemala and have the amazing opportunity to pour into their lives as padrinos (godparents).
