“THORSBY - The Grounded Project”
After over a decade of engaging in music ministry and leading worship in various forms and venues, I (Michael Thorsby) have decided to share my heart of worship by going into the studio for a recording project! I have decided to do a full length acoustic album of original songs I have written. My goal is to capture the raw inspirations behind the story of each song as I worship our Creator in freedom! I hope to engage others into worship through this project and this particular style of music and lyrics.
I have partnered with Christians With A Mission (CWAM) to help fund this project. CWAM is a 501-C3 non-profit organization that has offered to facilitate donations from supporters wishing to sow seeds into this ministry. 100% of all donations go directly to the project and are tax deductible. The funds will go towards tracking, mixing, mastering, graphics, photography, duplication, production, and promotion. Donors will receive a statement shortly after the end of the year showing their contributions for tax deductions.
I will be working with Pure Mix Studios (www.puremixstudios.com) out of Raleigh, NC. I will be spending the next few months preparing for this project. My amazing wife Sara will be tracking some vocals for most of the songs and I may have a few guest musicians for this project. We will be in the studio at various times April-June 2009 with a hopeful release date in July. The bills for this project begin accruing in April so offerings prior to then would be awesome!

CURRENTLY…
We finished the debut acoustic album “Thorsby- the grounded project” …unplugged… and it was released in September 2009. Within the first few months we distributed over 500 copies and still counting. We have heard many stories of how God has spoken to or touched individuals through this album and live performances and that is the whole purpose…to glorify God while “reaching the lost and strengthening the saints”! If it impacts just one, it is all worth it. We are looking forward to getting back in the studio to do a “plugged” full band album once we catch-up from the expenses from round one! May God be glorified as we continue to do what we feel called to do!!!
