“READINESS”

From my hotel room desk at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida……

As I’m called upon by my company and the United States Government to assist in hosting meetings dealing with some of the areas of my job description (AV-8B Harriers), I find myself a bit nervous.  We’re running, editing, and preparing power point presentations, taking minutes, supplying research, technical and engineering information and supporting our government customers as contracted to do so.  I’m accustomed to doing this in my every day job but this time the pressure seems a little more intense because it’s a once a year meeting with the BIG dogs (Colonel(s), Lt. Colonel(s), Major(s), Master Gunnery Sergeant(s), Squadrons….etc)!

This example reminds me of how important it is to be prepared….for the BIG opportunities(s) in life…especially in our Christian walk…..

Thoughts that come to mind to ask myself/yourself:

<
Am I prepared for the next BIG job opportunity (training, education, work ethic, dependability….etc)

<
Am I preparing myself for the unknown BIG events that might happen….. it’s hard to prepare for something you don’t know about yet….. but doing something towards something is preparing you more than doing nothing and just waiting for something good to happen…. that’s like lottery rules!

<
Am I prepared to step it up in my Christian walk (reading the Word, studying, praying, being a servant, humbleness, worship….etc)

<
Am I prepared mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially for what’s next?  If not, what needs to change?

<
Am I prepared to lead someone to Christ as is noted in the Great Commission?  If you don’t know what that is…read all of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible to get the bigger picture…. Those couple of versus are only the beginning!!!

<
Am I prepared to meet JESUS?  If He played your life back for you…what would He see?  If it wasn’t a good picture before now….. start today and let the film finish with a strong ending.  ***Disclaimer for non-Christians***…Don’t wait to get cleaned up and then give your life to Jesus…give your life to Jesus and you’ll most likely have the desire and strength to clean it up!!!  Don’t wait too long…. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed!

Enough of my thoughts….. what are you preparing for? (or trying to get motivated to prepare for?

ARE YOU READY????
