ON SOLID GROUND

“ON SOLID GROUND”

Sara and I have been doing construction on our old 1945 house for a few months now.  Various elements have decayed and broke down over the years due to a variety of factors but the foundation was built quite strong.

Relationships are very similar to houses being built…

Matthew 7:24-26 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

I challenge you to build your relationships with a firm foundation.  Don’t rely on the “warm-fluffy”, “we can live on love” or “we can do it ourselves” mindset.  Build your relationship with depth and don’t forget to include God.  Don’t let Him be an afterthought… let Him be the foundation.

There will be times when you will go through storms, you will be broke down and your bodies will decay but if you’ve built that strong foundation, you’re going to still be standing when the tide rolls through!
