BUILDING BLOCKS

BUILDING BLOCKS

Since we were babies we played with toys that were intended to increase motor skills.  Most of us had building blocks, Legos, Lincoln Logs or something similar that involved strategic planning to accomplish the goal.  We all quickly learned that the foundation of our masterpiece was essential in completing the task.  Without a proper foundation, the structure would crumble.

Life is very similar in a number of ways.  If we don’t have a good foundation, we tend to sway to and fro throughout life without ever really being grounded.  We will spend numerous amounts of precious life trying to fix some of our mistakes and backtracking when we should be moving forward in this journey of life.  This applies to many things such as basic motor skills, education, relationships, finances, dreams…etc.

Our relationship with God is a foundational building block that is ideal to be established at the earliest possible age but can still be accomplished if you still have breath to breathe.  When you are rooted in the foundations of Christ, it disperses into so many other areas of your life.  The opportunities are endless when you have a strong faith in Christ coupled with the Biblical foundation elements acquired through education, worship and prayer.  These things won’t happen by attending a few church services on Sunday mornings.  This is the part where you have to inquire, invest and engage in an ongoing daily walk with Christ.  It’s not about religion, it’s about relationship!
