Hello TJ's Family & Friends,
What a crazy awesome month we've had! Here are just a few highlights:
Michael & Sara Thorsby (Thorsby Band) were able to do a bit of recording at Barton College in Sept with Jordan Lane (drums), Derrick Stalnaker (electric) and James Berry (bass/other). We recorded enough to fill an album depending on how well they turned out... considering most of them were raw recordings and somewhat spontaneous. We sent the team a few "general idea" samples the night before and we went a bit off the grid since they only had the chance to listen to a few and even those were just clips. We even stuck with the first take on a few of the songs because we didn't want to over-produce it. We intended to do at least two songs and finished with eight at like 4am (with extended instrumental warfare on a few). It will be raw and it certainly won't be perfect but we're ok with that! It will be a few months for post production stuff to take place in this busy season but we'll keep you posted. We've been wanting to get back in the studio for a while now but finances have been tight and our schedule has been full. If you feel led to "DONATE" financially into our studio/post-production expenses towards our next album, we would great appreciate it to help expedite the process!!!
We had the privilege of leading at Ignite Jacksonville (Sept 20-24th) @ The Jesus Tent (Jacksonville, NC) a few nights and we were blown away with what God was doing there! The beginning of our Saturday set started with baptisms and I was a bit distracted with joy!
Michael had the privilege of leading a few sets at the NC Tent at Awaken The Dawn (Oct 6-9th) - 50 Tent City @ National Mall (DC). WOW! 50 State tents, regional tents, native tents and main stage going 24/7 with worship and prayer! What a great day to be alive!!!
Michael also had the privilege of leading a worship set in the prayer room hosted by Burn Raleigh, NC at The Drop (Oct 27-28th) @ Catch The Fire Raleigh, NC. When you gather with people who have similar DNA, it just seems to flow!
