So I find myself staring at my son (Gavin Michael) and treasuring the moments that I get with him.  I don’t want to miss a second of his life but yet I have to go to work and do responsible things so that I can properly care for him.  It’s almost as if everything else that seemed so important has taken a back seat for this season as I invest in my son’s life.  Sometimes the limited amount of time I get with him include changing diapers, spitting up or crying but I don’t really seem to mind it.  I prayed over my future children years in advance and for His will to be done…even if it wasn’t my ideal situation.  My little boy is healthy and I’m overwhelmed with the love I have for him in such a short amount of time.  I pray victory over my son for his endeavors and I will do my best to give him options and opportunities as he is under my supervision.  I’m sure I’ll learn a lot of things along the way as a parent but at the end of the day he will ultimately be responsible for the directions and decisions he makes throughout life.  I will try my best to do my part and I implore my friends and family to hold me accountable as I intend to lead by example.

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not stray from it.”

I’m sure God has some of the same feelings and love for us.  He probably wants to just hold us and love on us all day but at some point He has to release us to be what He’s called us to be.  He’s given us free will to make our own decisions but also blessed us with the Holy Spirit to intercede for us if we choose to accept it.  The love of the Father is so amazing even when we choose to go astray.  Having a child of my own just encourages me more to do my best to not disappoint my Heavenly Father.  I pray for victory!
